Some important updates:
- ✅ It is not employer-sponsored – you do not need a job offer.
- ✅ It is intended for individuals who are recognised as leaders (Exceptional Talent) or potential leaders (Exceptional Promise) in digital technology.
- ✅ Eligible fields include artificial intelligence (AI), software engineering, cybersecurity, fintech, gaming, data science, digital product management, and other technology sectors.
- ✅ You can work for any employer, be self-employed, freelance, or establish your own business.
- ✅ You can bring your spouse/partner and dependent children.
- ✅ It offers a route to Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR) after 3 years (Exceptional Talent) or 5 years (Exceptional Promise).
For most applicants, the process has two stages:
- Obtain an endorsement confirming you are a leader or potential leader in digital technology (unless you qualify through an eligible prestigious prize).
- Apply for the Global Talent Visa.
