An applicant may be eligible for migration if their husband, fie, de facto or civil partner is an eligible New Zealand citizen or resident.
The applicant must also meet health and character requirements. The New Zealand must also meet character requirements and not have previously made a successful partnership application.
Requirements
The couple will need to show:
- they have been living together in a genuine and stable relationship for 12 months
- they are both aged 18 years or over, or aged 16 – 18 years and have the support of parents or guardians
- they have met before making the residence application and
- they are not relatives
