International students require a visa to study in Germany.
- For studies that last 90 days, you require a Schengen visa
- For studies that last more than 90 days, you require a German National Visa
Entry to Germany with a national visa, will require you to extend your stay by obtaining a German Residence Permit for studies at the Foreigner’s Office. This needs to be obtained while your entry visa is still valid.
