Australia Visitor/Tourist Visas/Sponsored Parent (Temporary)
Overview: Australia offers several short-term visas for visitors, tourists, and sponsored parents. These allow stays from a few months to several years, depending on the stream. Conditions apply, and applicants must meet health, character, and financial requirements.
Australia’s Visitor Visas allow temporary stay in Australia for up to three, six or twelve months.
Sponsored Parent (Temporary) gives you the ability to stay up to either 3 or 5 years. This includes for tourism or visiting family.

- Bushfires can happen during hot, dry months. Check fire danger alerts and follow local advice in affected areas.
- Dangerous wildlife exists in some regions. Swim only at patrolled beaches and follow signs about crocodiles, jellyfish, and snakes.
- Weather can be extreme. Cyclones affect northern areas from November to April. Heatwaves occur in summer.
- Remote areas have limited phone service and medical help. Tell someone your plans and carry water and supplies when traveling far from towns.
- Crime rates are low but petty theft occurs in cities. Keep valuables secure in busy tourist spots and on public transport.
